GAC Philippines has officially added the GS4 MAX HEV to its local lineup, giving the brand another hybrid crossover at a price point that puts it well within reach of more mainstream buyers. The new model carries a regular price of ₱1,298,000, while an introductory price of ₱1,218,000 is available for reservations made until September 30, 2026.
That pricing immediately becomes one of the GS4 MAX HEV’s strongest selling points. It places a fairly large hybrid crossover in the same general price bracket as several smaller gasoline-powered SUVs, while still offering the space and equipment expected from a family-oriented vehicle.

A larger hybrid crossover for the money
The GS4 MAX HEV measures 4,685 mm long, 1,901 mm wide, and 1,690 mm tall, with a 2,750-mm wheelbase. Zigwheels Philippines noted before the launch that those dimensions put it very close to the Honda CR-V in overall size, which gives some perspective on how much vehicle GAC is offering at this price.
GAC’s Philippine product page lists 990 mm of second-row legroom, while the rear seats can fold flat to create a space measuring around 2.0 meters long and 1.02 meters wide. The cabin also gets rear air vents, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch central touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and what GAC calls its “Zero Pressure” seats for additional back and lumbar support.
The locally listed model rides on 18-inch alloy wheels, despite earlier LTO homologation reporting that mentioned 20-inch wheels on a pre-launch specification. For the final production model, the current GAC Philippines product information is the safer reference.

Hybrid power without plugging in
The GS4 MAX HEV uses a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine paired with an electric motor, a 2.1-kWh ternary lithium-ion battery, and a two-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission. GAC lists total system output at 232 horsepower, while motor torque is rated at 300 Nm, with power sent to the front wheels.
GAC claims fuel economy of up to 20.83 km/L and a combined driving range of up to 1,250 kilometers on a full tank under its stated test conditions. Those are manufacturer figures rather than independent Road Spec PH results, but they position the GS4 MAX HEV as a practical option for buyers who want hybrid efficiency without needing to plug the vehicle into a charger.
The GS4 MAX HEV also comes with eight airbags and 10 Level 2 driver-assistance functions, including systems such as adaptive cruise control and collision warning. GAC says more than 64 percent of the body uses high-strength steel, while the core passenger-cell structure uses super-high-strength steel.

GAC continues expanding its electrified lineup
The GS4 MAX HEV had already appeared on the Department of Energy’s list of recognized hybrid vehicles months before its official launch. AutoIndustriya reported in May that the model was listed as a 2027-model-year vehicle, while later LTO homologation documents further confirmed that GAC was preparing it for local sale.
Its arrival also adds another electrified model to a GAC lineup that has grown quickly in 2026. The company has already introduced or expanded several hybrid and plug-in hybrid products locally, while continuing to build out its AION electric vehicle range.
At ₱1.218 million introductory, the GS4 MAX HEV gives buyers an unusually large amount of crossover for the money. The more important questions now are how the hybrid system performs in everyday Philippine traffic, whether the claimed efficiency translates well to local conditions, and how the vehicle feels once driven rather than simply judged from its specification sheet.
The GAC GS4 MAX HEV is priced at ₱1,298,000, with the ₱1,218,000 introductory offer available until September 30, 2026.
