Motor Image is reportedly preparing to launch the all-new Subaru Outback in the Philippines during the fourth quarter of 2026. According to CarGuide.PH, an unnamed source confirmed the planned introduction. Philippine pricing, variants and the exact configuration were not disclosed in the report.
A more upright Outback
The latest Outback takes a noticeably more SUV-like direction than its wagon-shaped predecessors. Subaru’s overseas model has a taller body, more upright rear pillars and a boxier cargo opening. Its cabin also adopts a landscape-oriented infotainment screen and restores physical controls for several climate functions.

Those changes provide an indication of the new model’s direction, not a confirmed Philippine equipment list. Buyers will still need Motor Image’s local announcement before comparing engines, features and prices.
Fresh product needs available stock
The timing matters beyond the nameplate itself. CarGuide reports that Subaru sold 217 vehicles locally from January through June 2026, down approximately 41% year-on-year, with supply constraints affecting deliveries. Its sources also expect hybrid-model availability to improve during the second half.
A new Outback could give buyers another reason to revisit Subaru showrooms, particularly those interested in its more upright design. But renewed attention and a sustained sales recovery are different things. Competitive pricing, dependable supply and realistic delivery timelines will matter just as much as the reveal.
