Ford Philippines has introduced its updated Ford Ranger and Ford Everest lineups, bringing new variants, revised equipment, and a major increase in engine choice to the Philippine market. The headline development is the arrival of a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel engine for the Ranger Wildtrak, Ranger Wildtrak X, and range-topping Everest Platinum.
Looking through the announced specifications, this is not a radical redesign of either vehicle. The familiar Ranger and Everest remain underneath, but Ford has made several changes that should give buyers more meaningful choices—from a 600 Nm diesel V6 to a revised 2.0-liter engine that now uses a timing chain.
The V6 is the headline
The new 3.0-liter Power Stroke V6 turbodiesel produces 250 PS at 3,250 rpm and 600 Nm of torque between 1,750 and 2,250 rpm. It is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive in the Ranger Wildtrak, Ranger Wildtrak X, and Everest Platinum.
That 600 Nm figure is what immediately gets our attention. It represents a 100 Nm increase over the outgoing 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel and should give the Ranger and Everest more effortless pulling power for overtaking, climbing, towing, and carrying heavier loads—although its real-world refinement and fuel consumption will need to be evaluated properly.
The Ranger Raptor continues with a different 3.0-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost gasoline V6 producing 397 PS and 583 Nm. It remains the performance-focused Ranger, while the two diesel Wildtrak variants occupy a potentially more practical middle ground between everyday usability and stronger off-road capability.

The quieter engine update could matter more
Not every Everest buyer needs—or wants to pay for—a V6. The Active, Sport+, and Wildtrak continue with a 2.0-liter single-turbo diesel producing 170 PS and 405 Nm, but Ford has updated its fuel-injection system and replaced the previous wet timing belt with a timing chain.
That change may not attract as much attention as the V6, but it could be more relevant to the majority of buyers concerned with long-term ownership. A timing chain is not automatically maintenance-free, but moving away from the oil-bathed belt addresses an area that has generated considerable discussion among owners.
Ford has also made the 10-speed automatic transmission standard throughout the updated Everest range. The outgoing 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel is no longer offered in these newly announced variants, leaving buyers to choose between the updated single-turbo four-cylinder and the considerably more powerful V6.
What should buyers be excited about?
The Ranger Wildtrak is arguably the most intriguing addition on paper. At ₱2,469,000, it is now the least expensive route into Ford’s 600 Nm diesel V6, combining the stronger engine with full-time four-wheel drive, an electronic locking rear differential, and selectable terrain modes.
Spending another ₱140,000 on the Ranger Wildtrak X adds more purposeful off-road hardware. This includes increased ride height, 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, Bilstein dampers, and additional metal underbody protection. It appears to be the choice for buyers who will genuinely use the Ranger away from paved roads rather than simply wanting its tougher appearance.
The Everest range is more clearly divided by buyer priorities. The Active provides the most affordable entry point, while the Sport+ adds equipment such as a 360-degree camera and a broader driver-assistance package. The returning Wildtrak introduces four-wheel drive and more adventurous styling, but only the ₱2,849,000 Platinum receives the V6 diesel.
The Everest Platinum also brings the luxury equipment expected of a flagship, including 21-inch wheels, Matrix LED headlights, a panoramic glass roof, quilted leather upholstery, heated and ventilated power-adjustable front seats, and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.
Ford opened reservations through its Philippine dealer network on September 2. At launch, the new models are also covered by Ford’s 5-Star Care Package, combining a five-year vehicle warranty, five-year Scheduled Service Plan, and five-year Emergency Roadside Assistance, with time-limited Truck Month offers available until September 30, 2026.
