Ford Puts a Platinum Badge on Its Best-Selling Hybrid in the Philippines

The Territory Hybrid gets a new flagship variant, with the Platinum positioned above the Titanium X at ₱1,655,000 introductory price.

Ford Philippines has expanded its Territory Hybrid lineup with the introduction of the Territory Hybrid Platinum, adding a new flagship variant to a model that has quickly established itself as the brand’s best-selling hybrid vehicle in the country.

The new Territory Hybrid Platinum carries an introductory price of ₱1,655,000, according to Ford Philippines. That places it ₱56,000 above the existing Titanium X, which is currently priced at ₱1,599,000. Ford’s current lineup also includes the Territory Hybrid Trend at ₱1,399,000.

More importantly, the Platinum arrives as Ford’s response to the strong reception of the Territory Hybrid since its Philippine introduction in 2025.

From Best-Selling Hybrid to Platinum

The Territory Hybrid has been one of Ford Philippines’ strongest performers in the electrified vehicle segment.

Based on Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) data covering January to May 2026, the Territory Hybrid recorded 2,226 units sold, putting it ahead of the next-best-selling model in the small utility hybrid category by more than 500 units. It had already reached 1,000 units in sales within its first few months and ended 2025 with 1,645 units sold.

With that momentum behind it, Ford is now giving its hybrid crossover a more premium flagship treatment.

A More Premium Territory

The Territory Hybrid Platinum doesn’t introduce an entirely new powertrain or a new generation of the SUV. Instead, the Platinum builds upon the existing Territory Hybrid package with a number of exterior and presentation changes.

Philippine homologation documents reported by local automotive publications indicate that the Platinum receives new front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels while retaining the 19-inch wheel size, and raised-type roof rails. A predominantly black interior with orange accents has also been reported for the new variant.

The changes give Ford room to distinguish the Platinum from the Titanium X without fundamentally changing the Territory’s mechanical package.

Ford’s existing specification sheet lists features such as a panoramic moonroof, 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels, hands-free power liftgate, ventilated front seats, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, front parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera on the Titanium X.

In other words, the Platinum isn’t being introduced to turn a basic Territory into a premium SUV. It’s taking an already well-equipped Titanium X and giving it a higher position in the lineup.

The Hybrid Powertrain Remains Familiar

Under the hood, the Territory Hybrid Platinum retains the same basic hybrid architecture used by the existing Territory Hybrid.

It uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder dedicated hybrid engine, paired with a two-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) and a 1.83-kWh lithium-ion nickel-cobalt-manganese high-voltage battery. The vehicle remains front-wheel drive.

Ford’s published specifications list maximum internal-combustion-engine output at 150 PS and 230 Nm, while the electric motor is rated at up to 218 PS and 315 Nm. The Territory Hybrid’s quoted 0–100 km/h acceleration time is 8.5 seconds.

The hybrid system can operate in different modes depending on driving conditions and battery state, including EV, series, parallel and energy-recovery operation. The Territory also provides Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes.

What Does the Extra ₱56,000 Get You?

This is perhaps the most interesting question surrounding the new variant.

The Titanium X currently sits at ₱1,599,000, while the Platinum’s introductory price is ₱1,655,000—a difference of ₱56,000.

Because the Platinum retains the same basic hybrid powertrain, dimensions and 19-inch wheel size, the additional amount is primarily tied to its newer exterior treatment and premium positioning, rather than additional power.

The current Territory measures 4,685 mm long, 1,935 mm wide and 1,706 mm tall, with 185 mm of ground clearance and a 2,726-mm wheelbase.

For buyers already considering the Titanium X, the Platinum therefore becomes a question of whether the additional styling and equipment are worth the relatively modest premium.

Ford’s Hybrid Bet Is Starting to Pay Off

The timing of the Platinum is worth noting.

Ford introduced the Territory Hybrid to the Philippines in August 2025 as its first electrified offering for the local market. The Philippine market was also the first to receive this particular hybrid configuration for Ford’s International Markets Group.

Less than a year later, the Territory Hybrid has become the best-selling hybrid vehicle in the Philippines based on the latest CAMPI figures available, giving Ford a strong foundation for expanding the lineup.

Adding a Platinum variant allows Ford to capitalize on that momentum without having to introduce an entirely new vehicle.

It also gives customers who are willing to spend more an option above the Titanium X while keeping the same hybrid system that has already become familiar in the local market.
